No previous dance and drum experience needed and all skill levels are welcome and encouraged!
Campers will perform for their families and friends on the last day of camp.(TBD)
Spring and Summer camps settings will be confirmed later. Manga is still committed to strongly follow the guidelines of wearing masks and keeping a safe distance from each other as released by the CDC. Meanwhile, We are planning to open our Spring and Summer camps to in-person sessions. If weather permits, we will mostly be outdoor, and space indoor will be limited. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns; we are here to to help make this experience a safe and comfortable one for you and your camper. Please keep being safe and healthy.

The class incorporates knowledge of different beats and rhythms and promotes coordination between the dances and the musical beats of the drum. The class teaches the history of the dances in their African cultural contexts.
The class introduces students to rhythms from the following music instruments: Djembe, Djundjun, Songban, agogo (cowbell), shekere
The class provides a multi-cultural learning experience, as participants make African crafts and traditional art forms, learn games, and experience the art of storytelling.
The class teaches basic French (spoken in the majority of West and Central African countries) by blending vocabulary and structure with fun games and African music.
